If there’s one slow cooker recipe that turns heads and wins hearts, it’s this Slow Cooker Gammon In Cola. Perfect for a roast dinner or any special occasion, this easy recipe transforms a humble joint into a tender, flavour-packed showstopper. Sweet, salty, and irresistibly sticky—this is gammon done right, with minimal effort!
Place the carrot chunks and onion wedges in the bowl of the slow cooker.
Place the gammon joint on top. Pour the cola over to submerge it by at least ¾. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 4-5 hours, or on low for 7-8 hours.
When the gammon is finished cooking, preheat the oven to 220° C. Line a baking tray with foil.
In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, mustard and Chinese five spice.
Take the cooked gammon out of the slow cooker and remove any string or netting. Cut the rind (if your joint has it) leaving a layer of fat on top. Score the fat in a criss-cross pattern using a sharp knife.
Smear the glaze all over the gammon and roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until dark and sticky. Brush some more glaze that gathered at the botom of the tray on top of the gammon just before serving.
