Cinnamon Apple Porridge is the perfect warming breakfast for chilly mornings, and it couldn’t be easier to make. This simple recipe uses minimal ingredients you probably already have at home, making it a quick and comforting option for the whole family. Packed with sweet, stewed apples and a hint of cinnamon, it’s the ultimate way to start the day right.
Add the apples, maple syrup, water and cinnamon to a small pan. Mix, and set it over low heat. Stirring occasionally, stew the apples for 8-10 minutes, or until softened, but not mushy.
In the meantime, add the oats and milk to another small saucepan and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 5-6 minutes stirring once in a while, until the porridge is creamy, and most of the milk is absorbed.
You can either stir in cinnamon apples right into the porridge or serve the apple cubes as a topping on a bowlful of creamy porridge.
