Hi, I am Ieva! Welcome to my humble abode on the Internet!
A self-confessed foodie, I love making (most) things from scratch! And most of all, I love exploring undiscovered cuisines and new flavours. Here, at Somebody Feed Seb, I am on a mission to share recipes for everyone: a busy professional, who only has 20 minutes to cook dinner, a socialite who loves to impress their guests at a dinner party, a die-hard sugar lover and the person who strives to eat healthy wholesome foods! Quite a range of people, huh? That's because I am all of these people, transforming from one to another each day! And I am sure you are too sometimes!

Somebody Feed Seb was created in 2019 as a one-stop food blog for everyone! With recipes ranging from quick and inexpensive classics to traditional dishes with modern twists, to desserts that will have everyone gushing at the end of a great meal, we hope you will find a recipe to fall in love with!
About Me
No, unconventionally I have not learned to cook from my grandma or my mum. But I did have amazing food growing up! My dad could cook potatoes 5 different ways (and I loved all those ways) and my mum loved nothing more than ordering a platter of sushi (a great choice!).
But as years went by, I simply got bored with the food that we ate. In my teenage years, I got an unexplained urge (a calling, perhaps) to try and recreate all the things we ate in cafes and ordered to be delivered. I was amazed at how flour and water can make a delicious loaf of bread! I was shocked to discover how much I liked vegetables (which was not a cool thing back in the day for a 14-year-old, so I kept it a secret). And I loved how a teaspoon of spice can transform the dish from mundane to extraordinary!

When I was in my early 20s, I met Seb, and we bonded over our love for cheese! At the time, I had a weekend job as a Cheese Specialist at Fortnum & Masons to support myself at university and loved every minute of working there. Not only did it allow me to taste some of the best cheese in the world, the knowledge I gained working there, expanded my culinary horizons beyond my imagination!
But my true love for cooking has to be attributed to Yotam Ottolenghi. Working in one of Ottolenghi delis in London really opened my eyes to the endless ways vegetables can be cooked, and the sheer amount of ingredients out there in the world, that I had never heard of. Up to this day, Ottolenghi's Plenty and Jerusalem remain my favourite cookbooks in the world!
Somebody Feed Seb is based in a small home kitchen in North Wales, UK. We are a team of three: me (the cook and the blogger), my husband Seb (the photographer and social media manager) and our golden retriever Sawyer (we like to call him 'The Main Participant', no matter what is going on).

Quick Facts
When the fridge is empty, I make: Pea Soup (frozen garden peas, onion, stock cube - that's it!).
If I could only have one dessert for the rest of my life, it would be: Cheesecake (any kind).
One thing I never make from scratch: Filo (Phyllo) Pastry.
My favourite celebrity chef: Yotam Ottolenghi.
Eating motto: If I put slightly less food on my plate, I will feel better about having seconds (and I will have seconds!).
Love For Sourdough
My journey with sourdough began in 2019, and it's been a great, flour-dusted adventure ever since.
While traditional sourdough bread is undeniably delicious, my true passion lies in making a variety of mouthwatering pastries. From Sourdough Croissants that boast that signature flakiness to indulgent Pain au Chocolat, modern-day invention, known as Cruffins, and delectable Danish Pastries, I've committed to perfecting the art of creating these buttery flaky treats with the magic of sourdough.
But my dedication goes beyond mere taste; it's about sustainable and thoughtful baking too. I'm an advocate for reducing food waste, and that's why I make it my mission to incorporate sourdough discard into as many of my recipes as possible.
Having said that, I bake sourdough bread every week and have accumulated a lot of tips and tricks over the years. If you would like to become a part of our small sourdough subscriber community, fill in the form below to receive sourdough tips and recipes straight to your inbox. You will also get a Free Guide to Sourdough "Ears".
In the spirit of spreading holiday cheer, I've had the privilege of authoring an ebook dedicated to Christmas Sourdough recipes. This project holds a special place in my heart as it combines my love for sourdough baking with the joy and warmth of the holiday season. Whether you're a seasoned sourdough enthusiast or just starting your baking journey, this ebook is a great resource to make your holiday gatherings even more special.
Christmas Sourdough ebook
Celebrate the holiday season with a unique twist this year with our 24 Christmas Sourdough recipes! Discover the magic of using active sourdough starter, sourdough discard, and leftover baked sourdough bread to create a memorable and flavoursome Christmas feast.
Over the years, I've shared my love for sourdough with countless friends and family, teaching lessons, hosting tutorials, and watching people light up as they pull their first loaf from the oven. (Spoiler alert: they're always thrilled-and so am I!).
In the past couple of years, I've poured that same passion into creating two eBooks: Flavoured Sourdough and Sourdough Christmas. Each one is packed with recipes and tips designed to help home bakers create incredible loaves and treats with confidence and joy.
And 2024 brought some exciting news-I've been selected to join the exclusive Pinterest Create Community UK! It's a wonderful space for sharing inspiration, so if you'd like even more tips and ideas, come find me on Pinterest.
Thanks for being here-it means the world!
