    Italians sure know how to eat! And it is particularly true over the holiday season. Traditional Italian Christmas desserts will truly make Christmas time unforgettable and take you to a cosy winter evening full of Italian family traditions and irresistible flavours. For those who like a bit of a modern twist, we have a bunch of Italian desserts that give the Italian tradition a bit of a contemporary flare and extra intrigue. So if you too have a sweet tooth, follow us to find your favourite cookies, cookies or no-bake desserts to make over the Christmas season this year.

    1. Panettone

    Panettone is a cherished Italian Christmas dessert, a true star of the festive season. This sweet bread originates in Northern Italy but is now enjoyed in many parts of Italy and across the globe. It is known for its rich, sweet dough studded with candied orange peel, making it a great addition to any holiday table. This buttery sweet bread is heavily enriched with egg yolks and typically takes a couple of days to make, but the finished product will certainly impress your family and friends. Our favourite recipe is Sourdough Panettone, so get your stand mixer out and let the dough hook do most of the work!

    2. Tiramisu

    Tiramisu is a beloved traditional Italian dessert that transcends seasons, making it a favorite not only for special occasions but also during the festive Christmas time of year.     5. Christmas Panna Cotta

    If you fancy a lighter, yet extremely creamy and decadent dessert to serve after a filling Christmas lunch, look no further than Christmas Panna Cotta. Heavy cream is infused with chai tea by heating it over low heat, then left to set before adding a layer of cranberry jelly! All the Christmas flavours in this gluten-free dessert.

    6. Torta Caprese

    Torta Caprese is a delectably light Italian flourless chocolate cake, easily put together with just five essential ingredients. This gluten-free Italian Christmas dessert recipe is perfect savoured alongside a steaming cup of coffee, as an accompaniment to afternoon tea, or as a delightful dessert option after a festive meal.

    10. Hazelnut Biscotti With Cocoa Powder and Orange Zest

    Out of all the delicious Italian cookie recipes, we make these Hazelnut Biscotti most frequently! Not only do they have great taste and are perfect dunked in sweet wine, but they also keep well at room temperature for a couple of weeks.
