10. GreenStar Elite Juicer
Having freshly squeezed apple or orange juice in the morning is luxury! What is more, carrot and ginger juice is our go-to remedy when we start feeling unwell in the cold season. Having a juicer that uses the slow masticating juicing method means all the nutrients remain, and you can keep it in an airtight container for longer. Although pricier than most, Tribest Greenstar Elite Juicer is by far the best juicer on the market and was certainly one of the best investments we’ve made!
9. Kenwood Hand-Held Mixer
In my opinion, Kenwood is by far the best brand out there when it comes to kitchen gadgets. I think that everyone who bakes, often or only occasionally, should have one of the hand-held mixers. Whilst creaming butter and sugar may not seems like a big job, having to whisk egg whites for meringues or macarons is definitely worth the investment in an electric whisk. I’ve had my Kenwood mixer for around 10 years and never had an issue.
8. Salter Vegetable Steamer
To retain the maximum amount of nutrients in your vegetables, nutritionists suggest steaming instead of boiling them. I couldn’t believe how much more flavour steamed vegetables have when I first used this wonderful kitchen gadget. With three tiers and a rice bowl, Salter Steamer is a wonderful item to have! What is more, it comes with a three-year guarantee!
7. Domo Pancake Maker
A fun interactive breakfast experience! You don’t have to cook in the kitchen and serve your family or guests as you go! You simply put this wonderful gadget on the table, plug it in, and everyone can have a go at making pancakes right there at the breakfast table! With a range of pancake toppings on the table, this gadget will make for a very special breakfast! Perfect for families or special get-togethers.
6. Ninja Blender
Blenders aren’t just for making smoothies. As long as you have a powerful blender, you’ll be able to make crushed ice, breadcrumbs, falafel and even blend your nuts and caramel into a praline or frozen fruit. It is rather noisy, but any powerful blender would be! I found this a really good value for money.
5. Victorinox Knives
I’ve had some of my Victorinox knives for over 8 years and, I am not joking, never sharpened some of them. I especially love the smaller serrated knives, like this set here.
4. Global Knife
I only have one Global knife that I received as a gift, but I sure hope I had a full set. The very comfortable weighted handle makes it so easy to slice, dice and chop. If you want to buy just one multi-purpose knife, I would definitely recommend a Global Cromova18 Vegetable Knife.
3. Kenwood Stand Mixer
Every baker’s dream gadget, Kenwood Stand Mixer is by far the best value for money. Sturdy, not too noisy, and easy to clean, this stand mixer arrives with a mixing bowl, K-beater, balloon whisk and the dough hook (all dishwasher safe!). There many optional Kenwood Stand Mixer attachments that you can buy to make this mixer a multi-functional kitchen gadget (read about all the wonderful attachments below).
2. Kenwood Attachments
- Blender: A versatile attachment that will liquidise your soup (as it can be used with hot liquids), make smoothies or margaritas! With a handy stick stirrer, you don’t have to keep turning it off to stir the thicker blends.
- Food Processor: There’s a range of different things you can make with this handy attachment. Chop salsa, make guacamole, turn your chickpeas into hummus! What is more, you can make the pastry, make nut butter or simply finely chop various ingredients.
- Pasta Maker: If you cannot resist freshly-made pasta, this pasta making set is definitely worth a look. With a lasagne sheet maker (that then can be used for ravioli or tortellini) and cutting inserts for spaghetti and fettuccini, this is a useful attachment to have if you make large batches of pasta regularly.
- Continuous Slicer/ Grater: Our most-used Kenwood attachment. With a range of slicing/ grating discs, this attachment can be used for making chips, thinly slicing potatoes for pommes Anna or gratins. It also grates or juliennes your carrots and shreds lettuce or cabbage! Irreplaceable attachment when making salads or cooking with lots of vegetables!
Note: Check attachment compatibility with the Kenwood model that you have.
1.De’Longhi Dedica Coffee Maker
Number 1 in my Top 10 Kitchen Items list is definitely my one and only De’Longhi Coffee Maker! Not necessarily directly related to my cooking, but arguably the most important gadget in our kitchen, that gets used at least twice daily! A wonderful quality coffee maker that can be adjusted to the water hardness levels, water temperature and amount of coffee to be used (it comes with 3 different sizes of pod filter). It also features a double drip tray, making it easier to clean! All you need is some great coffee and a milk frothing jug.
I sure hope you found something for your wish list in my Top 10 Kitchen Items. Let me know in the comments if there’s anything you personally would add to your list of kitchen must-haves.
